I admit it. I'm not the best when it comes to accessorizing an outfit with a belt. Sure, I've had my fair share of pyramid stud belts that I've worn with jeans (my favorite was the fuzzy leopard print one!), but as far as matching a belt over a dress or a top? No clue. I want to try it, but I have a hard time finding a belt to go with an outfit. HOWEVER:
It is the belt I just bought at Forever21, matched with a dress from Target I got a year or so ago! And, of course, my new HK cardi. Do you love it? I was so proud. I love it. I just can't believe I've finally successfully matched a great belt with a cute dress. Well, after that, I was just so excited and I've gone on a Pinterest-belt-photo marathon. Here are some more belt-style inspirations. Enjoy! (Images linked to source listed on Pinterest.)
Which is your favorite? I really love the second to the last one, with the leopard print. I want to invent in a ton of new belts, especially ones that I can knot! Let me know about your favorite way to wear a belt, and your favorite stores to shop for them!

ok-your dress is ADORBS. And the belt IS fab with it! Admittedly, I am fearful of the belt in my own wardrobe. I haven't figured it out yet. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've decided to just go for it! I just ordered 4 belts off of Forever 21's site, so here goes! xx
DeleteI was wondering why my pinterest was suddenly flooded with belts yesterday...
ReplyDeleteI own like 1000 belts (like 5 in reality), but I don't think I ever wear any of them. I had one skirt that actually had BELT LOOPS that looked really cute with a belt, but I think I had to give it away when it got to be too big for me. I've yet to figure out a way to wear belts with like, anything else I own. I have a skinny braided one like in the second photo, though, so maybe I should experiment with it.
TELL ME MORE BELTS
DeleteOh, that belt with the little bat wings is so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that one!!
DeleteI dont wear belts much, but that bat one oh my! I would so badly ;)
ReplyDeleteI know! I wish it told me where the belt was from..
DeleteI have about ten dress belts. I wear them ALL the time. I like finding them at thrift stores for a few dollars, so I have a variety on hand for every outfit! Bright colors are my fav!
ReplyDeleteI just bought 3 skinny bright belts from Forever 21 for $1.50 & then a pretty floral print one for like $8 -- they should be in the mail soon!
DeleteFold down cowboy boots and wrap belts around them or a new edgy twist!
ReplyDeleteOoooh! I like it!!
DeleteLooks great! I have to say I'm addicted to belts and only wish I had more in fun colors. Totally jealous of that collection of 8 gazillion belts that you found on Pinterest! (Speaking of Pinterest - what's your link?)
ReplyDeleteI frequently find my best belts in thrift, second-hand, and vintage stores (and I've noticed that there are lots of awesome vintage belts on Etsy!). I love the wide leather ones and like to pair them with a-line dresses and skirts (like here: http://katealamode.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/winter-wear-in-san-francisco/) or flowier dresses (like here: http://katealamode.wordpress.com/2012/01/21/the-kate-and-rocky-show/). I also remix belts that come from other dresses.
