Yoga for a Sunday Afternoon

Sundays should be all about rest - ending your weekend in a relaxing way and starting the new week off right. I can't think of anything better for that than a big cup of tea, a lit candle, and a nice yoga workout. And I can't think of a better yoga workout than one focused on detoxing your body.

Sarah Beth is my favorite yoga instructor on YouTube - I've done this video dozens of times and I love it each and every time I do it. It's nice and intermediate, so it's more of a challenge than basic sun salutations, but it isn't too difficult for someone who has tried yoga a handful of times. All the twists are super awesome and I always feel 100% better afterward.

Let me know if you like it!

What I Wore: Floral & Cupcakes

I'm into floral all year round, but when spring fashion starts showing up in stores, the rest of the world catches up with my obsession. I couldn't resist this little dress - the bright orange got my attention.

Another thing that I'm loving so far this season is pastel goth. I love creepy and I love cute, so naturally I love the two together. Pretty, sweet-colored tones matched with silly-goth touches (see my drippy nails) is definitely my fashion focus this year.

Do you like my coffee clutch? I've been on a cupcake-spree lately, thanks to Twinkie Chan's Cupcake Coffee Cup Cozy sleeve pattern on Etsy. Worth the buy, I've made over 20 of these guys. Such a fun little project to make - instant satisfaction - and they're a super fun gift to give. Valentine's Day iiiiis coming up! (Twinkie also put up a bunch of V-Day stuff on her shop, too, so check that out before it's too late!)

My Filofax - Weeks Four & Five

This year I am trying to be more creative with my Filofax on a weekly basis. I've been loading up on washi - and FOUND the perfect pastel skinny-tape set from Michael's - and made some cute monthly glitter tabs to put on the side. I had ordered a Kikki K, but when it came it was TINY, so I sold that off immediately and am trying hardest to make my Metropol my home. I'd love a more pastel color, but I really do like it otherwise.

Here are the last two weeks in my planner. I'm still getting the hang of "my style," but all I know is that it really includes that skinny washi. I really want more stickers, though..

Materials: pretty much all completely Target as of right now... Otherwise the skinny washi and the glitter tape on the edges of the tabs are from Michael's. I just use a normal sharpie to write on the tape.

FINISHED PROJECT: Flower Garland

Do you think it will ever get warm again? I was walking to my car this morning and thought to myself, "this isn't so bad!" I looked at my phone's weather app and it said one degree. That is bad! That's bad that I thought that wasn't bad!

Either way, I want it to be nice out. So, to try and lure out the sunshine, I made a super cute spring-y flower garland to decorate the big window in my living room.

I used this pattern with a crazy German name that I found on Ravelry and I used cute colors of yarn that I had on hand. The pink and red are both Vanna's Choice, the white is some leftover fancy yarn that I bought at a specialty store, the purple is Red Heart baby soft yarn, and the green is a Joann-brand boucle yarn.

It worked up super fast - the part that took me the longest was weaving in all the ends for the petals. Otherwise, I really liked how the pattern worked - you use the green first and do all the leaves, flower centers, and stems FIRST. It makes it easy to get it as long as you want (it goes quick!) and then you go back to add in the colors.

I'd love to make more more more - I keep walking around my house and thinking of what windows I can decorate. Basically all of them, really.
